How To Develop Your Passion For Food
Most people view food as a means of replenishing the energy supply in the body. However, many people enjoy food as a hobby and some are even quite passionate about it. Others view food and cooking not as an art form, but as a science.
An interest in food can be expressed in a number of ways. Whether you enjoy cooking in the kitchen, eating, or writing about what you eat, there are several ways that a love of food can be developed into something more.
Spending time cooking in the kitchen is a fantastic way to relax and learn something new at the same time. Pull your Kitchenaid hand mixer out of the cupboard, grab the flour, and begin with the basics. Practice makes perfect, and the more you work at cooking, the better you will be. Once you are more confident, you will have the freedom to tweak recipes or even develop your own.
Once you have developed your own cooking style, you may find that you want to share your interest in food with a broader audience than your family and friends. A great way to do this is to write about it. There are several possible ways to share your passion in a written form.
Food critics love to eat out and try new things. If this is something you enjoy, you may consider trying it too. Critiquing food and restaurants can be done as a freelance writer. You can also get a position with a specific publication, such as a local newspaper or magazine.
Having a cookbook published is another option. Begin a collection of your favorite dishes, and compile a book that reflects your individual cooking style. You can include recipes for breakfast through dessert, or you can concentrate on a cookbook with just appetizers. Simply grab your Canon SLR camera to get the best photos of your dishes, and send your work off to as many publishers as possible.
A blog is also a great way to share food with the world. You can discuss your daily successes or failures, and encourage other food lovers as well. Post the recipes that are already in your plans for the day, or create something special to write about.
