How Modern Art Have Found a Home
Artistic works that were made from the 1860s to 1970s denote the philosophy and style of modern art. The Beginnings of Canvas Art
As early as the fourteenth century, canvas has become the common medium for art works. One of the earliest painting that were seen as a canvas art is the Madonna with Angels, which was seen in Gemaldegalerie, Berlin. Canvas replaced the common support of wooden panels although panel paintings were still being used until the sixteenth and seventeenth century in Italy and Northern Europe. Venetian and Mantegna artists were the ones leading the change from panel paintings to canvas art.
