Does anybody have some creative nursery ideas for a baby girl?
We're starting to decorate the nursery, and my mind is a blank as to how to decorate. I don't think I want to do the princess thing- and I don't think we want everything to be ALL pink. We were thinking of something she could grow into a little- maybe a Dr. Seuss room? Like, one fish two fish red fish blue fish in soft colors? But then I thought, maybe the Seuss characters painted on the walls would be scary at night for a little one. Then we were thinking of maybe a cowgirl room- I don't know.
Any ideas? Help! Thanks 
We have a friend who is extremely artistic and she would help us decorate- even murals and stuff if we wanted. (And she's good...)

For my daughter's room, we did do a soft pink - like a vintage light pink - and the decor was vintage. Antique or old-looking furniture (got most everything for free from relatives, yippee!) and painted it white. I found a great old dresser at an antique mall for $100. Then I did pink and white toile patterned curtains. Now that we've moved, we changed the wall color to a pastel green, but used the same color scheme - light pink and light green.
Other colors that look good together are light pink and yellow as well as light pink and light orange. THat way you can use the other colors as your main color and the pink as an accent.
I did see in one decorating book a really cute idea - making like an awning type valance over a window to look like a little Parisian cafe or something. Stripes are always fun, too.
If you have a main color you can always do a lot of accents with different fabrics - like mixing florals with stripes, stripes with polka dots, etc.
Cowgirl theme would be cute - maybe red bandanna-type fabric for accents. If you sew, I know you can get this type of material by the bolt at places like JoAnn's. (You can even do no-sew pillows, etc). The walls could be a creamy, almost parchment color with fun accents on the walls that reflect your cowgirl theme.
