Here Is A Checklist That Helps Wedding Organisers
I have put together a few of the things that you have to consider when organising a wedding, its so easy to get caught up in the carnival that is wedding without thinking about alternatives and the fact that you need to give yourself a bit of time to get it all organised.
Clothes – Wedding Dresses, Grooms outfit you name it the price is the limit, weddings have become a time for strutting your stuff in an outfit that can often cost you the earth. This doesn't have to be the case however with many people opting for alternative or themed weddings where the groom is as likely to be wearing a swimming costume or a suit of Armour. When thinking about what to wear make sure that you are realistic about budget. Yes a wedding is a once in a lifetime thing, but you don't have to be paying it off for that span of years.
Food – In the same respect people go to the extremes of a royal banquet style spread with tables rowed in gilt cutlery and beautiful candlestick holders, served by a team of waiting staff as they bring out twenty courses of perfectly positioned food. or you could consider a buffet style set up where everyone that comes brings some food and lays it out ready. This particularly works if you prepare a list of food that each person can select to bring for the evening.. It really does depend on what you want to get out of the evening.
Administrator – The person that is doing the paperwork can be a registrar, a vicar, a religious celebrant, or any other religious person that is able to legitimately and legally document a marriage. Ensure you have spoken to these people well in advance so that you have plenty of time to book around the day they are available.
Location – This is a great one once again for the diverse number of things people come up with for their wedding. Whether a pyramid in Egypt, a field in the middle of France or a church down the road. Outside events always work well with marquee hire allowing you to have a beautiful setup space in gorgeous surroundings. The issue in England the last time I looked was that you cant get married outside as it is the building that is registered as a place for someone to get married rather than the person. So that they can get married outside quite a few people head of to Scotland.
Gifts – Gifts are a bit of a tricky one as you don't want to offend anyone if they cant afford very much or if someone has tastes that are very different from your own. If you have just set up home ensuring you have a list of stuff you need for your new place can help you get the things that you need. Many retailers are able to set up a wedding list for you so that people can buy from it and ensure that you don't end up with four toasters (unless you need them of course).
Booze – Alcohol and drinks are something that you can either go out and buy from a wine warehouse or get a mobile bar in for the evening. The other alternative is to get everyone to buy a bottle of wine to bring so that the vino keeps flowing without you being out of pocket afterwords.
The Band – If you have a particular band that you want to get in for the event start looking early as most performers are booked up well in advance. Its worth going along to one of the bands gigs to check out whether the music they play is either good enough or appropriate for the evening.
Rings – If you are going to buy rings for each other, consider the fact that both of them are going to be with you for a long time. consider a craftsman when you are want to get your rings if you want them to be something you love for a long time. This doesn't mean that you have to fork out ridiculous amounts for a piece of bling it means that you can by something of beauty made specifically for you.
Accommodation – If your plans include staying away from home or you have a lot of relatives that will be coming down for that period, make sure you have booked the hotels well in advance for them so that they have an enjoyable stay.
Holiday (Honeymoon) - Its now the done thing to go away on holiday after the big event, to some sunny distant land where you can get away from it all and enjoy the wedding bubble. An alternative that I think works really well is having the wedding where you are going to stay so that you are put under as little stress as possible.
Waiting Period – Always remember that you need to get your names up at the registry office in the region that you are getting married for a set period of time.
