Any creative birthday invitation ideas for a trip to NYC?
I'm turning 12, and my mom agreed to taking me and 4 of my friends up to New York City for like 2 days! We are going to drive there and then stay overnight in the Hilton. We are going ice-skating in Central Park, we are going to the Empire State Building, we are going to do ALOT of shopping, and we are going to see a broadway play, probably Wicked. For party invites, i want them to be VERY unique. And not just like a card invites, i mean invitations like they have on the show My Super Sweet Sixteen. SOme examples are when they put them in ice blocks, balloons, they made them into tickets or personalized shirts, or whatever. I want a VERY cool creative idea.
well it really depends on the theme of your party. I notice that you are doing a lot of shopping, so why not make it a fashion theme. Get some fabrics, construction paper and fabric glue. Glue the fabric to the front of construction paper only and then cut out your own fashion designs. On your computer you can make out your party info, then paste it on the back. After that punch two holes in your clothing; one on the left and one on the right. Get a pipe cleaner and put it through the 2 holes then pull it up. Attach it like a cross and then twist it and bend it over to be the hook of the hanger. If it gets too long then cut it. For your envelope, you can get any page in a magazine and tear it out. I recommend the cover because it is sturdier. Then fold the bottom part up, but not all the way to the top but just about 2 inches away. Glue the sides. Then take some scissors and trip the sides of the top flap of your envelope at a diagonal cut. Put in your invitation, then close the flap top. You a cute Button, bead, sticker, or any fashion accessory you want to hold the top flap down. Now to let them no it is an invitation you can get like a cardboard shoe, or price tag, and write your invited ....... Just punch a hole in the envelope where it is farthest away from the invitation, and a hole in the tag. Put a string through the 2 and tie a knot.
