Them: It's merry Christmas! Christmas!!!! Jesus's Birthday!!!!!!! God some people!!!

To a Christian rejoicing in the birth of Christ, when God became a baby to grow among us and bring his full revelation, in insipid "happy holidays" is a disappointment. However, it should certainly not be an occasion to attack a well-wisher.
A measured response might be, "What would Jesus do if someone wished him happiness?"
You might mention that holiday means holy day, and that you are rejoicing with him in his celebration of what is holy.
