Turning A Kids Playhouse Into A Car Lover's Dream House
A kids playhouse can quickly morph into a dream house fit for any car lover with a few simple tweaks and accessories. While it may be thought that cars are a "boys only" type of theme, the reality is that there are many girls that just can't get enough of the chrome, speed, and funky wheels. To decorate a playhouse for a young car lover, there are a few must-have elements that you will want to incorporate, as well as a few just for fun items that will keep the environment light and comfortable. Playhouses are meant to be a kid's castle, and if your little guy or girl wants their castle decked out with autos, then it's best to oblige to ensure that they get the most out of their playhouse experience.
Try these tricks to transform a playhouse into a car hut:
1. Look for vintage and antique auto memorabilia that also included lamps and other types of lighting. Whether you opt for a ceiling light cover with cool convertibles or flashy trucks, or whether you decide on a basic lamp that's shaped like a car, the lighting options that you select are sure to make a big impression and get the attention of your little one as their outdoor playhouse is lit up with one of their absolute favorite things.
2.Rugs make excellent accents for the car lover such as throw rugs that can be made to look like sporty racers or rugs that have race tracks and roads printed on them for playing with Matchbox or other cars. For the children playing outside, it will be awesome to to come inside the playhouse and have a place to wipe away that dirt from their outdoor playing.
3. Decorate the walls so that they look like an auto shop! Playhouse walls can be transformed using store bought decals, or decals that can be made, into a place where your child can do his or her own car fixing or "auto diagnostics". For a real effect, have lots of tools hanging on the wall along with pictures of different cars. To add pizzazz to the walls, you may want to consider commissioning a mural of your kid's favorite car or race driver, in a life-size scale that will be the point of attention to all that enters.
4. Give your kid their own set of "wheels". From child-sized versions of sports cars or jeeps to the cute plastic coupe cars, your child will enjoy being able to ride or drive all over the yard! He or she could even "park" right outside of their own outdoor playhouse just like the adults park in their driveways.
