What is the difference between a candy thermometer and a chocolate thermometer?
Is the CDN Pro Accurate Quick Read Thermometer DTQ450X a candy or chocolate thermometer (meat?)? PLEASE HELP!

It's a meat thermometer. Designed to tell you when your meat or fish is cooked. That's what the Amazon description says. It *should* work for chocolate, but it might not work for sugar as its maximum temp is 450degF. I think molten sugar gets hotter than that.
Here's a tip. If you want a chocolate thermometer, don't buy one that says it's for meat.
