Is it possible for two white people to have a black baby?
My wife and I have both had our first child together - a beautiful little boy called Junior.We are both white with fair hair but our baby is mixed race, like quite dark brown skin and dark hair.My wife said that her great grandfather was black and sometimes certain genes don't get passed down straight away but get carried through a few generations.

No. It is not possible for two fair haired caucasians to have a bi-racial child. Now, that being said, the same parents may produce children who look vastly different such as a blond haired child and a red haired child. Or a short brown eyed child and a tall green eyed child. Etc.
Did you just learn of this black great grandfather after your child was born? I'm afraid I'd have to assume the child was not yours if it is obviously bi-racial.
